The Boston Celtics cruised to an 18-point victory in Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night. Despite a strong performance from Luka Dončić, the Celtics' depth and experience proved to be too much for the young Mavericks.
Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics with 30 points and 11 rebounds, while Jaylen Brown added 29 points and 7 assists. Dončić finished with a game-high 42 points, but he was not able to get enough help from his teammates.
The Celtics took control of the game in the first half, building a 16-point lead at one point. The Mavericks fought back in the second half, but they were never able to get closer than 7 points.
The Celtics will look to take a 2-0 lead in the series when they host Game 2 in Boston on Thursday night.
