EDMONTON -- The Edmonton Oilers have advanced to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 2006 after defeating the Dallas Stars 3-1 in Game 5 of the Western Conference Final on Sunday night.
Connor McDavid led the charge for the Oilers, scoring a goal and adding an assist. Stuart Skinner was also a key contributor, making 34 saves to preserve the victory.
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins added two goals for Edmonton, giving him three in the series. The Oilers now await the winner of the Eastern Conference Final between the Tampa Bay Lightning and New York Rangers.
