Sheringham Issues Harsh Verdict On United’s Summer Signings
"I Think United Need A Lot More Quality"
Former Manchester United forward Teddy Sheringham has criticized the club's summer signings, stating that they need "a lot more quality" to compete for major trophies.
Sheringham's Comments
Speaking to Sky Sports, Sheringham said: "I think United need a lot more quality. They've signed some good players, but I don't think they've signed enough quality to challenge for the title. They need to sign two or three more players with real quality."
Sheringham's comments come after United's disappointing start to the season, which has seen them win just two of their first six Premier League games.
United's Summer Signings
United have signed four players this summer: Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, Lisandro Martinez, and Casemiro. Malacia and Eriksen have impressed in their early appearances for the club, but Martinez and Casemiro are yet to find their best form.
Sheringham believes that United need to sign more players with the quality of Eriksen and Malacia if they want to challenge for major trophies.
United's Chances This Season
United's chances of winning the Premier League title this season look slim, with Manchester City and Liverpool looking like the two strongest teams in the division.
However, United could still challenge for a top-four finish and a place in the Champions League. They will need to improve their form in the coming weeks if they want to achieve their goals.
