Early Impressions of Caleb Williams
Ups and Downs for Bears Rookie Quarterback
Progress and Setbacks in Training Camp
The Chicago Bears have wrapped up their first week of training camp, and rookie quarterback Caleb Williams has made a strong impression. Williams has shown flashes of his potential, but he has also had some struggles.
Williams' best performance came on Day 3 of camp, when he led the Bears offense to a touchdown drive against the first-team defense. Williams completed several passes, including a long one to wide receiver Darnell Mooney.
However, Williams struggled in the Bears' first padded practice on Wednesday. He was sacked twice and threw an interception. Head coach Matt Eberflus said that Williams' performance was "not good enough."
Despite his struggles, Williams remains confident in his abilities. He said that he is "learning every day" and that he is "excited to keep getting better."
The Bears will continue to evaluate Williams throughout training camp. He is expected to compete with veteran Andy Dalton for the starting quarterback job.
